Training Workshop “High-Entropy Alloys and Coatings”

As part of the PNRR-III-C9-2022-I8 project, acronym AHEAD, IMNR organized on March 20, 2024, in hybrid format (location IMNR headquarters and ZOOM platform for online communication), the workshop entitled “High-Entropy Alloys and Coatings”, dedicated to high-entropy alloys and coatings made from these types of materials, intended for applications with microbiological corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength. The lecturers held the following presentations:

–  Structure and Properties of High-Entropy Nitride Coatings;
–  Advanced Techniques of X-ray Based Structural Analysis;
–  Synthesis methods for high entropy alloys;
–  Electrochemical methods used for corrosion evaluation;
–  Unveiling sustainable choices through life cycle assessment concepts: new pathways in exploring materials with reduced environmental footprint.

Within them, notions about high entropy alloys (HEA) and HEA-based coatings, methods of obtaining and characterization of HEA, as well as life cycle assessment of these types of materials were presented.
